British Cactus & Succulent Society

The British Cactus & Succulent Society (BCSS) is a national organisation with over 80 branches across the UK. Members include a wide range of individuals from experts to beginners all with a shared aim of research, conservation, cultivation and propagation of these amazing plants.

The branches meet on a monthly basis and usually have a different speaker each month, plants for sale and a mini table show. Most branches also have other events throughout the year that could include special shows, where members exhibit plants, or trips to specialist nurseries..

There are also a number of specialist sub-groups of the national society, so if you have more specialist tastes, you could join the Haworthia Society, the Sedum Society or the Mesemb Study Group amongst others. These also have meetings and special events throughout the year and usually a journal and plant swaps.

If any of this sounds of interest – you can find a link to the society’s home page on this website.
